Looking for a cheap clear polyester resin or liquid plastic to use for large crafts?

I want to make a large 4 foot by 3 foot square about 2 inches thick of clear polyester resin or something similar. I have never used anything like this before... but looking up the resin online it is very expensive and I will need quite a bit. I am looking for a place to get it cheap or a cheap alternative. Depending on what you are embedding, you might need a 'low-temperature' curing plastic resin to prevent damage to the embedded object.

If carve, take a look at cast acrylic (not extruded, which shows strain cracking after drilling, much less carving) which should be available in 2'; thickness because of use for bullet proof windows.


Buying resin in 55 gallon drums is about the only way to go cheaper if you have been looking at 1 pint cans.
