How do you remove a metal badge from a clear resin display? ?

Many years ago I had my military badge embedded in a clear resin mold for display. Is there a way I can safely remove it and return it to its original condition? How do you remove a metal badge from a clear resin display? ?
Removing the badge would be very difficult.

If you try to cut away the resin the medal could be damaged in the process

Is it possible to purchase a copy badge?

You would need records of the metal being awarded. How do you remove a metal badge from a clear resin display? ?
The resin has penetrated every crevice of the batch and it is chemical set. You can't melt it off. If the badge is pretty smooth with little relief, then you might be able saw around the badge a short distance from the edge then stand it on edge and use a chisel or knife to split off the face. It may be adhered to the badge and not release.
